Garlic and Cheese Grits

Ingredients: 

1 cup quick grits
4 ounces butter
12 ounces sharp Cheddar cheese (split into 6 oz.)
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
2 tsp. garlic powder

Instructions: 

Cook grits in boiling salted water until thick

Remove from heat

Stir 6 ounces cheese and butter

Beat egg with garlic powder and milk

Stir into grits

Pour into buttered 2-quart casserole

Top with remaining cheese

Bake 1 hour at 350°
